Endcliffe Park

First Wednesday in December

9 a.m., no one remembered

A kids parka, now stiff with frost

In ‘Scallywags’ bought, in Endcliffe Park…….lost

Metal creeps beyond perimeter rails

Commuter stress, and all it entails

Collective-rusting on forever-choked Rustlings

Lead-free emissions whilst walking-pace-bustling

Café chairs nervously stray-out

Venture from that safe little redoubt

Leaving the sanctity of overnight storage

Whilst all around, squirrels forage

Male Mallards create a splash

Amid midwinter-mating clash

As if aquatic stag–rutting

Under skeletal trees, each other rebutting.
